B.A. International Security Studies and Russian, University of Oklahoma, 2014
M.A. Global Finance, Trade, and Economic Integration, University of Denver – Josef Korbel School of International Studies, expected Spring 2018
Matthew studied International Security Studies and Russian at the University of Oklahoma (OU) with an emphasis on the former Soviet Union region. The program was part of the National Security Education Program pioneered by former Senator and current OU President, David Boren, who emphasized college students learning about regions of national security importance. Matthew studied abroad in Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, and Estonia—conveniently right before the Ukraine Revolution and War. After graduation, he worked for a diplomatic mission, international advertising firm, political campaign, and a non-profit that focused on Middle East cultural exchanges with Americans.
Matthew's goal is to work for a geopolitical risk consultancy firm or in a similar work environment where security and commerce intersect. Matthew is an encyclopedia of obscure and useless knowledge, podcast junkie, binge reader, avid gym goer, organizer of social outings, and is an ocean guy (sorry Coloradans).
