Matt studied International Studies and Spanish at Texas A&M with an emphasis on Homeland Security. Matt is interested in security and governance in the Middle East and Latin America, and in the Summer of 2017 interned for the Brookings Institution. He has studied and volunteered abroad in Spain and Costa Rica, and his interests also include American right-wing extremist organizations.

Matt enjoys pasta, coffee, listening to Stevie Ray Vaughn, and reading in parks. He is already planning on retiring in Costa Rica.
